Elon Musk took a playful dig at Jeff Bezos on Monday.

The Tesla CEO replied to a Bezos tweet with a second-place silver medal emoji on Twitter. The tweet hearkened back to a statement Musk had made to Forbes last month, claiming he'd send Bezos a silver medal and a giant statue of the number two after he surpassed Bezos as the wealthiest man in the world in September.

Musk's tweet was in response to a post from the Amazon founder about the people that had doubted the e-commerce giant in its early days.

"Today, Amazon is one of the world's most successful companies and has revolutionized two entirely different industries," Bezos wrote on Twitter.

Musk's latest tweet comes as the wealth gap between Bezos and the Tesla CEO continues to widen. Musk became only the third person to have their wealth surpass $200 billion last month.

Last week, Musk's net worth jumped by about $11 billion, according to Bloomberg, as his space company became the second-most valuable private company in the world. SpaceX's valuation soared 33% to pass $100 billion on Friday.

Over the past few years, Musk and Bezos have traded the title of wealthiest person back and forth. To date, Musk is valued at about $223 billion, while Bezos' net worth is about $191.6 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaire Index.

The two billionaires have a longstanding rivalry. Earlier this year, the two entrepreneurs traded jabs on a series of lawsuits from Blue Origin and Amazon against SpaceX. Bezos' called NASA's decision to award SpaceX a $2.9 billion lunar lander contract "unfair," bringing the issue to federal court in August.

More recently, Amazon subsidiary Kuiper filed a protest letter with the Federal Communications Commission over SpaceX's plans to expand its Starlink satellite network. In response, Musk said Bezos had "retired to pursue a full-time job filing lawsuits against SpaceX."
